The heart chakra or Anahata is located in the chest area around the heart, from the shoulders to the diaphragm and including the arms. This chakra is also referred to as the 4th chakra in the body. It governs the physical and emotional centers involving love, joy, inner peace and the abilities of altruism, giving and receiving. When you hear the phrases “Heart centered” or “opening your heart” this is the energy center we are talking about. A phrase for a healthy heart chakra would be, “I am giving and receiving love effortlessly and unconditionally.”
